SZKOLA PODSTAWOWA,  CIECHOCIN

Ciechocin is a small village located 30 kilometres from Toruń.  It is  the area, where there are mostly average and small rural farms.  Economic levels stipulate our pupils' style of life. In many cases this problem makes chances of contacts with inhabitants of Europe impossible or  limited. Some people there choose emigration because of lack of employment opportunities. The children in many cases are left home mainly with their grandparents or one of parents . This situation has psychological impact on their life . They often have behaviour problems or bad results at school. We try to give them equal chances to gain an education and motivate them by attractive teaching. On the other hand they perceive the necessity of  cooperating with their colleagues abroad. Previously, they participated with enthusiasm in e-Twinning program. Now they would like to take their international cooperation to the next level, which is international exchange. A lot of our students have problems with the adoption of knowledge. It is known that international exchange can motivate them most of all, especially in learning foreign languages. We also count on exchanging of experience, dividing knowledge among others about tradition and customs, which are cherished and transferred from generation to generation in our pupils' families. We also hope that this way lets us to break the barriers which stipulate weak development  and often little ambition in our pupils' choices .
