The school Santiago Ramón y Cajal is an Infant and Primary school (3 to 12 years old) located in a town in the sorroundings of Barcelona, L’Hospitalet de Llobregat. 

We have 12 classes at primary level and 6 classes at kindergarden. t’s a school with 430 pupils and around 34 teachers.

The majority of our students (93%) come from migrant families who come from South America, Morocco, Congo, Guinea, Camerun, Pakistan, India and China and have just settled in Spain.

The families have low incomes and an extensive number of our pupils are at risk of being socially excluded and isolated from the wider community.

Our families are very culturally diverse and many are socio-economically disadvantaged.

We have also a high number of children with Special Educational Needs (22%).
